I thought I’d fit in one last post before we head off to enjoy some turkey and all the fixins’ with family… and I was excited to get working on this session I had last weekend with the beautiful Scoggins family.

Matt, Louise & Hunter braved the morning cold with me for a family session in Canton.  We met up at a park and let Hunter run around picking up rocks and sticks… what more could a little guy ask for?  Mom was especially interested in the black and whites and having the family dressed in black is the way to go… I love how they’re turning out so far.

Here’s wishing you and yours a very happy Turkey Day… one where we can all sit back, enjoy some good food and take time to appreciate all of our many blessings…

Jenna and I have a special photographer-subject bond… it started with our first session together when she was just 3 months old & a complete dream to photograph.  I couldn’t have asked for anything more from such a little one during that first session… and the same was true at our most recent meeting last weekend!  It was a cold afternoon so we decided to stay cozy inside with the heat and shoot the session with natural light indoors.  Jenna’s mom had some special chairs that she wanted to use as well, which worked out beautifully & the now 8 month old was yet again a dream to work with!  Mom and Dad weren’t too bad, themselves, of course!

Thanks so much for such a great session… hope you guys will enjoy some sneak peeks!

an afternoon in the leaves… November 18, 2008

I spent a fun afternoon with the Gilmers last week… running around the yard & playing in the leaves with Glenn Elizabeth & her little brother Ren!  We just let them do their thing while I followed them around with my camera.  I enjoy sessions like that because I think that’s the best way to capture a child’s true spirit and personality in their pictures.

This session was special for me because these two cuties just happen to be the children of one of my good guy friends from high school.  It was so neat to get to spend some time with my friend Warren’s children and as always with his sweet wife, Lindsey!  Here are a few of my favorites so far from our session!  Thanks for a fun afternoon!

Today is my favorite little man’s 1st birthday… I can hardly believe it has been a year since our lives were blessed with Luke!  God is so good and we are so thankful to Him for giving us this beautiful child.  What a year it has been!

Happy birthday, sweet boy!!

Pictures have always been important to me – even before I seriously stepped into photography – because I see them as a way to seal that particular moment in time.  My session last Saturday got me thinking about how much I need to get my sisters & brother together for a session.  It seems like when you’re younger, sibling photo opportunities happen all the time… but as we get older, we let too many years go by without having our picture made together.

I think Hunter & Paige’s mom will be very happy to have the images from our session last weekend.  As brother and sister, I am sure they had their picture taken together countless times when they were younger… but now as they are both in college and leading busy lives, it’s still important to take the time to remember these moments as they, too, pass by so quickly!

Here are a few of my favorites so far from our session.  These were shot on the beautiful grounds of the Roselawn Museum in Cartersville, Georgia…

I had a great session last week with the Collier family… Rob, Coco & their precious little girl Xadie.  We live in the same neighborhood and Coco and I originally met at our neighborhood ladies’ Bible Study.  Xadie was just a baby when we first met and now here she is running all over the place like such a big girl!  We shot our session on the walking trails and creek in our subdivision and it turned out be a beautiful location!  I can’t believe I’ve lived here for 3 years and this was the first time I had done pictures out there!  I will definitely have to use this location again in the future!

We had a great time watching Xadie run around & play… here are some of my favorites so far from our session.  Hope you guys will enjoy!

sweet, beautiful couple + fantastic location = a photographer’s dream session!

I had the honor of shooting an engagement photo session with Kyle & Danielle this past weekend.  We shot the session at the Hardman Family Farm in Cleveland, Georgia, and to say it was an absolutely beautiful location would be an understatement.  We had an old mansion, old farm houses, a creek, bridge, rock work and acres of land to use… what more could a photographer ask for?  Kyle and Danielle are the sweetest couple and were game for all of my ideas.  We had such a great afternoon together!  It was hard to pick just a few, but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing some sneak peeks!
