Although I am in the midst of editing sessions from the last week, I had to take a break to work up some samples of more Christmas card designs to showcase.  I recently purchased some beautiful card templates from one of my favorite and most inspiring fellow photographers, Nichole Van.  These templates can be used for Christmas cards, birth announcements and pretty much anything else your imagination desires!  They can be customized with your choice of font, color and text to create a truly unique and personalized design.  All cards are printed on 5×7 flat card stock, in either semi-gloss (matte finish) or semi-gloss with UV coating (shinier finish).  There are 25 cards per box with prices starting at $30 per box (white envelopes included).

I am so excited to be able to offer these to my clients for their Christmas cards this year and for birth announcements in the future.  Here are several examples of how they can be used for Christmas cards… please contact me to see the full range of templates.

I had a busy weekend of sessions… thank goodness for beautiful weather!  There was even a slight “chill” in the air Sunday morning as I had the opportunity to photograph a session that was a little out of my normal routine.  While I normally prefer to not do sessions on Sunday mornings, I decided to accept the invitation to experience a Sunday morning at Lawrenceville First Baptist Church… and help contribute to the creation of some new marketing materials for their capital campaign by photographing different areas during the Sunday School and worship service times.  It was a great experience and I truly enjoyed having the chance to meet a lot of new and very welcoming people!  I can’t wait to see how the images turn out!

Saturday evening was beautiful, as well, and I was excited to have the opportunity to photograph a session for Abia and Stanley, and Abia’s parents.  They are the sweetest family and kept me laughing the entire time… it was such a blast photographing all of them, including their very photogenic dog who popped in for a few of the photos.  Abia and Stanley recently found out they are having a baby girl in several months, so I can’t wait to have the chance to photograph their new blessing, as well!

Here are several of my favorites so far as I am in the midst of editing!  Hope you enjoy!

Luke & I were excited to be asked to join our friends Julie & Ellie this past weekend for a trip to the beach!  The four of us joined Julie’s parents for a long weekend on the Georgia coast and of course I had to bring my camera along!  We were blessed with beautiful weather and had a blast watching Luke & Ellie play in the ocean!  I was excited to have the chance to get some shots of the babies on the beach… they were such great sports for our photo session and I think we were able to capture some really special memories for both families.  Here are a couple of my favorites…

I truly believe that God places people in our lives at certain times for certain reasons.  This has definitely been true in the last year as I have been working harder at making my dream of being a professional photographer a reality.  Heather and I met over a year ago through a website that we both utilize for displaying our work and seeing other photographers’ work, all as a way to help us grow and become better photographers.  I refer to her as my “photography friend”… she has been an invaluable source of information, advice and feedback.  Her business, HD Portraits, has grown immensely in the last year and I have been so excited to watch it grow and learn from her.  How wonderful to have someone going through the same scary and exciting experiences at the same time, to talk to and bounce ideas off of?

Heather and her husband were blessed with a beautiful baby girl this past June.  Baby Kate joined the family shortly after her big sister, Meg, turned two.  They are the sweetest family and I was so excited when Heather allowed me to visit them shortly after Kate’s birth to photograph the new family of four.

I do all of my work “on location”, meaning that I will come to the client’s home or chosen location to shoot the session.  This often means outdoor sessions for my work, which I truly enjoy.  However, there are also times that call for indoor sessions and I always come prepared with my travel backdrops for those situations.  We used the backdrops for my “mini-session” with Heather and her family this past summer and I wanted to showcase a few of those images to give clients an idea of how this works with natural lighting.  It is always best when there is plenty of window lighting in the room, so we always try to pick the room with the best light in the house to set up the backdrop.  I loved how these turned out.

I had another great senior portrait session this past weekend.  Adam is a senior at Lumpkin County High School this year.  His father is the pastor of my husband’s family’s church in Cleveland, Georgia, so I’ve known Adam and his parents for several years now.  I was honored when Adam’s mom asked me to do his senior pictures.  We had a great time on Saturday and I can’t wait to show them all of the finished product.  Until then, though, here are a some sneak peeks to tide you all over!  Hope you enjoy!
