“b” is for bulldogs July 28, 2008

I had a great session with this little bulldog this past weekend.  Dylan is also just days apart in age from my little man, so it’s been fun to watch him grow and change right along with Luke.  I had the opportunity to photograph Dylan several months ago for our first photo session.  He has grown quite a bit since then and can now sit up and crawl, which makes for a completely different session experience.  While I love the newborn and young baby sessions, I also enjoy the older babies because of their ability to interact with the camera.  It’s a blast to watch them laugh and “talk” as we go through our session.  Dylan is so much fun to photograph and I think we captured some really special ones for his family.  We’re hoping Dad will especially enjoy the little bulldog ones!  Here are a few favorites…

I recently got to do another session with one of Luke’s best friends, Lane.  Luke and Lane get to play together on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Lane’s mommy, Mindy, is the one who watches Luke for us when I work and we feel so blessed with how well it has all worked out.  Not only do we love Mindy and feel great about her watching our son, but Luke has a blast playing with his buddy Lane ~ they were born just 6 days apart.  Lane’s mommy grew up on a ranch in Montana – how cool is that?!  So, we had the idea to add a little cowboy flair to Lane’s most recent photo session.  Here are a few of our favorites…

storyboards July 25, 2008

Storyboards are a great way to display some of your favorite images from your session.  I have recently started creating them for clients and they are quickly becoming a popular item.  They come in several different sizes, the most popular one being 10×20, and can also be mounted (recommended) to help protect the print.  Check out the new storyboards gallery on my website to see a few examples of recent storyboard creations…

ellie (aka “luke’s girlfriend”) July 25, 2008

I had the opportunity to photograph my friend’s little girl Ellie recently.  Ellie was born 6 weeks prior to my son and as her mom & I work together, we had the pleasure of going through our pregnancies together.  Now we can hardly believe that our little ones are already so far along in their first years.  Ellie recently turned 9 months old and is quite possibly one of the cutest little girls ever!  Okay, so I am a little biased seeing as she is Luke’s first girlfriend… but she really is quite the cutie & such a blast to photograph.  I can’t believe that the last time I photographed her she was only 10 days old.  Here are a few favorites from Ellie’s session…

The month of June included several great sessions.  I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph a newborn, the sweetest 3 month old & the cutest 19 month old… all girls!  Just as I was starting to worry about my portfolio being filled with boys only, I had the chance to work with these great families!  I thought I would use one of my first posts to show some of my favorites from the month of June…
